Calcium Phosphate-Coated Titanium Implants in the Mandible: Limitations of the in vivo Minipig Model

2020

Introduction: We aimed to compare implant osseointegration with calcium phosphate (CaP) surfaces and rough subtractive-treated sandblasted/acid etched surfaces (SA) in an in vivo minipig mandible model. Materials and Methods: A total of 36 cylindrical press-fit implants with two different surfaces (CaP, n = 18; SA, n = 18) were inserted bilaterally into the mandible of 9 adult female minipigs. After 2, 4, and 8 weeks, we analyzed the cortical bone-to-implant contact (cBIC; %) and area coverage of bone-to-implant contact within representative bone chambers (aBIC; %). &lt…

Optimization of flat area coverage under connectivity constraint in wireless sensor networks

2022

A wireless sensor network consists of a set of small autonomous units that interact via a network built by their communication modules. They observe their environment, capture information, then manage this information according to their computing and/or storage capacity. To effectively accomplish their task(s), they need to cover as much of the area of interest as possible. It is therefore essential to quantify the quality of their coverage. In this thesis, we therefore seek to best cover an area of interest, with a precise number of sensors. While taking into account the possible overlaps between sensors, we first deploy in a zone of regular dimensions and evaluate the exact coverage using…

Sub-optimal waypoints, UAV path planning and mosaicing application

2016

International audience; Create a complete system of video surveillance using camera mounted on a robot like UAV to maintain optimized vast area coverage and reconstruct an image by using mosaicing techniques. This paper demonstrated the efficiency of using one UAV to cover vast area using optimized positions.
